Donato D’Angelo is a highly experienced trial attorney focusing his practice on complex criminal and civil litigation matters in both federal and state courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, Donato has been attorney of record on hundreds of matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. Exceptional service, professional representation and a personal approach are the cornerstones of his practice.
In the criminal context, Donato began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office where he successfully investigated and prosecuted a wide array of criminal cases ranging from white collar crimes and narcotics offenses to violent crimes, including domestic violence, sexual assault, weapons offenses, aggravated assault, armed robbery, vehicular homicide and murder.
In addition, Donato was a New Jersey State Trooper for four years prior to becoming an attorney. As a state trooper, Donato was trained in both DUI and criminal investigation and his personal involvement in criminal cases as a state trooper gives him a unique perspective when reviewing police reports, interviewing witnesses, and challenging physical evidence. Donato often identifies legal issues or mistakes made by police during an investigation through his own personal experience as a state trooper. Now as a criminal defense attorney, he uses his skill and experience to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients.
After serving as an assistant prosecutor in Essex County, Donato gained civil litigation experience working at a prestigious law firm in Morristown, New Jersey, where he represented domestic and international insurance companies in coverage disputes arising from the opioid epidemic, clergy sexual abuse, environmental toxic torts, and concussion injuries in professional sports. Donato was also a solo practitioner before founding D’Angelo Wujciak LLP. As a solo practitioner, he successfully represented private and commercial clients in a variety of fields, including landlord-tenant, real estate tax appeals, civil rights, personal injury and business law matters.
Prior to attending law school, Donato served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army where he completed two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division.
